P. Indy) had begun her foaling process and at 11:44 PM, a handsome copper-colored colt made his entrance into the world. He arrived a week late from his due date.

Chico is Spanish for “little man” which is the endearing name given to my nine year old grandson by his paternal grandfather who passed away several years ago. Since that time I met a trainer at a stallion show in Ocala and we became friends.
He was called Chico for his small jockey stature. After hearing about my mission, he supported my cause by offering to help with a bowed tendon issue on Secretariat’s Glory.

This filly is named in honor of my late husband, Johnny who passed away on Pearl Harbor Day. He served in the Navy as a torpedo man during WWII.
He was my hero, my companion and best friend and he loved the horses, so I will honor him in any way that I can. I believe that Johnny is watching from afar and I will carry on with the mission for both of us.
