Overview

Keeping records of family ancestry which creates our “Family Trees” go back to ancient times. Our lineage of ancestors is sort of a “tell-all” dissertation of who contributes to the family gene pool…some good genes and some not-so-good. Just like human gene pools, great thoroughbred champions don’t always reproduce themselves in their sons, but rather, as Secretariat did, produce daughters that passed on his “immortal greatness” that shows in many of today's champions.  Secretariat passed on his large heart genes, known as the x-factor mostly through his daughters, whose sons became great champions.

Since Secretariat was a Broodmare sire, and produced many of today’s champions through his daughters, Crown of Glory Racing’s “Breeding With A Mission” program looks for potential sire pedigrees which include those “Blue-hen” type mares, most especially Weekend Surprise, Terlingua and Secrettame. Crown of Glory does not participate in pinhooking, but rather raises Secretariat descendants for future racing prospects. Winners of the Kentucky Derby, The Preakness, The Belmont, Breeder’s Cup Champions, plus Triple Crown winners support the foundation of Crown of Glory’s pedigrees. With four home-bred crops and another on its way, “Breeding With A Mission” is well on its way to growing new branches on the Secretariat Family Tree.
