In Loving Memory of
Johnny Anderson

Born of a human, with the heart of an Angel and the soul of a Sage, “Johnny” was no ordinary man. It is true that there are those who meet “no strangers”…he was living proof of that.

He was loved by everyone, cherished by his family & friends and saluted by strangers for his devoted service to his country during WWII. How appropriate it was that he left this earth on Pearl Harbor Day… that was Johnny’s style of doing things!

Shirley Bennett Anderson penned the above words to describe her beloved husband and partner in life. Johnny was loved by everyone he met. If he didn’t put a smile on your face within 10 minutes, he considered the day “Wasted”! His sweet soul touched everyone he came in contact with. He loved God first, then family and friends. There wasn’t a mean bone in his 97 yr. old body…determination and a little stubbornness, yes; but that’s what made him so interesting. His war stories captivated everyone, but his kindness was stamped on his forehead with an indelible seal marked: “Eagle Scout”.

Although he was never a boy scout, he conducted his daily life as if he were trying to earn his merit badges over and over again. Johnny’s departure on Pearl Harbor Day speaks loudly of how he loved his country and defended it so valiantly. He will be remembered as “Our Hero” and will live forever in our hearts.

Arrivederci my gallant prince…until we meet again.

Johnny Anderson
