Mimi's Dream ~ His dam, Secretariat’s Fire, from Secretariat’s last foal crop, passed on her sire’s size, color, demeanor and intelligence. Triple Crown winner Secretariat’s careers speak for itself. His other grandsire, Candy Stripes, (son of French champion juvenile Blushing Groom), sired American Horse of the Year INVASOR and achieved a World Class 10% Stakes Winners to runners rate.
This colt was named in memory of Shirley’s late husband, Johnny Anderson, WWII hero who passed away on Pearl Harbor Day last year. She commented, “Johnny loved all our horses as our children, but he remarked that he saw greatness in this one’s eyes”. Johnny Leroy belongs to a family of international champions and is part of our mission to “Grow the Secretariat Family Tree”. This breeding combination garnered very high scores in the mating ratings and will graft a new branch of champion bloodlines to Secretariat’s Family Tree.
